Students Excel in Fine Arts Competition

Heritage Academy students participated in the Association of Christian Schools International's Fine Arts Festival on Mar. 13, at Messiah College near Mechanicsburg, PA. There were forty-one schools from five states at the competition.

In Art, James Robinson received a superior rating for his wood carving of a turtle. Colleen Yi earned superior for her senior photography portfolio. Ann Joo was awarded superior for her pencil sketch of one of her classmates as Sherlock and received excellent for her oil painting.  Maggy Barnes and Alex Ahn both earned scores of excellent for their water color paintings.

In Music, Ann Joo received a medal for having the highest score in the instrumental solo category for her flute solo and was invited to play at the closing ceremonies. Maggy Barnes and Kevin Lee earned superior for their piano solos. Jordan Thomas received excellent for her piano solo. Julian Thomas earned excellent in the vocal solo category. The Heritage Men's Ensemble was awarded ribbons for earning an excellent rating.
